Apple says iPhone 6S is lying about battery life
Is your iPhone turning off even though it says you’ve got charge? You’re not going crazy…
Apple has admitted that some iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus devices are telling porkies about their battery life.
A new error means that the battery meter is failing to update the percentage being displayed. This means your iPhone could shut down despite a 100% full battery gauge.
The company admitted the problem on a page titled: “If your iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus battery percentage doesn’t update.”
The iPhone 6S
The page describes the problem as follows:
“If you change the time on your iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus manually or change time zones when travelling, you might notice that the battery percentage doesn’t update.”
It adds: “Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution.”
In the meantime, here’s how to fix the problem:
- Restart your iPhone
- Go to Settings > General > Date & Time and make sure that Set Automatically is turned on
Apple says that if the above steps don’t help resolve the issue then you should contact Apple Support.
