Apple iPhone 5se could be as fast as the iPhone 6s
Apple may be planning to fit its rumoured 4-inch iPhone SE with the same processors as the current generation iPhone 6s range.
Although recent reports have suggested the so-called iPhone 5se would boast the A8/M8 chips, new information now implies the smaller handset will benefit from the speedy A9/M9 processors.
The update comes from 9to5Mac, whose sources suggest there are different prototypes “floating around Apple’s canvas” featuring both configurations.
The presence of the M9 chip may be significant as it would enable the always on ‘Hey Siri’ functionality without the need for the handset to be plugged in.
Speculation continues to ramp up head of the launch, rumoured to be scheduled for March.
On Friday, we brought word of a report claiming the handset will boast a design similar to the iPhone 5s range, rather than the streamlined iPhone 6 styling.
It was also claimed the device will offer the Live Photos feature from the iPhone 6s, while boasting the same camera configuration as the iPhone 6. Apple Pay is also likely to be offered through the Touch ID sensor.

All in all, it appears as if the new 4-inch iPhone (whatever it ends up being called) will be a hodgepodge of Apple’s last three flagship releases.
