Apple will release a cheaper version of the HomePod later this year, it has been reported.
The Siri-powered speaker was subject to huge delays and only came out in February. It has received mixed reviews too, partly because it’s so expensive, costing a whopping £319.

According to a new report in Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, Apple is preparing a cheaper HomePod Mini, which will come out in the second half of 2018.
It’s rumoured to cost between $150 and $200, but it isn’t yet clear how it will differ from the existing HomePod, except of course in terms of size.
It wouldn’t be hugely surprising to see a cheaper version of the HomePod come out at some point, but whether or not that happens this year is another question entirely, especially when you consider how long it took Apple to bring its original speaker effort to market.
The company is reportedly also working on cut-price versions of the iPad and MacBook Air, which could make an appearance at WWDC in June.
