Apple Confirms iPad 3 Launch Event On 7 March

We’ve had rumour after rumour practically from the day after the iPad 2 launched last year but now Apple has finally indicated it will launch a new iPad on 7 March.

While the invite to the event in the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco doesn’t specifically mention the iPad 3, it does say Apple has “something you really need to see. And touch.” This is accompanied by a picture of what looks suspiciously like a new iPad.

The device pictured on the invite looks like it has an improved screen compared to the current iPad, but it’s not conclusive and we’ll have to wait until the event itself to see what is announced.

Apple iPad 3 Launch 7 March

The event will begin at 10am local time, which is 6pm GMT next Wednesday, 7 March and we will of course be covering the event live, bringing you all the details as they are annoucned.

While we expect to see a new iPad, be that the iPad 3, iPad 2S, iPad HD or whatever it is called, we also expect to see a revamped Apple TV and possibly a new HD audio file technology which will use adaptive streaming and let you convert your entire music collection into a HD format.

We’d love to hear what you think will be announced in San Francisco next week, so let us know in the comments below.
