Apple has increased the price of its Mac range in certain countries.
The company has increased the price of its Mac computer range in Australia, Brazil, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, and Thailand. The reason behind this is the fluctuating value of the US dollar in the world economy.
One broad example noted by MacRumours is New Zealand, which has been hit particularly hard by Apple’s price alterations in 2015.
Prior to these latest changes, the MacBook Air range cost between NZ$1,399 and NZ$1,799. Now it costs between NZ$1,599 and NZ$2,199.
The MacBook 12-inch, too, has seen a $400 price bump in New Zealand, and it’s a similar story for other Mac models in the other countries mentioned above.
This price rise comes in the week that Apple has refreshed its iMac range, with a new Retina display-equipped 21.5-inch iMac, an improved 27-inch model, and all-new mouse, trackpad, and mouse peripherals.

It isn’t uncommon for Apple to adjust its overseas prices to account for fluctuations in the world economy, and it isn’t just hardware that’s involved.
Earlier this week, app prices were increased in Australia, Indonesia and Sweden, while back in January the minimum price for an iOS app in the UK was raised from 69p to 79p.
