Did Apple accidentally leak new Beats by Dre headphones?

Apple may have inadvertently revealed plans for a new line of Beats headphones, destined to launch alongside the iPhone 7.
An e-mail is circulating online that reportedly shows Apple’s intent to extend the Beats headphone range. The e-mail was apparently mistakenly sent out to French journalists by Apple’s Beats PR team, and has since been posted to the internet (via MacRumors).
It appears that Apple is planning to launch a new range of Beats by Dre headphones to coincide with the iPhone 7 launch, which is scheduled to take place on September 7, 2016.
It’s not clear exactly how the line-up will be expanded, but there’s a chance we’ll see new Lightning connector EarPods. That’s because Apple reportedly plans to drop the 3.5mm audio jack on the iPhone 7, which would force users to connect their headphones via the Lightning port instead.
There’s also a chance we may see new Lightning-connected Beats, or an expansion of the Beats wireless range.
Unfortunately, until Apple’s event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco next Wednesday, we can’t say anything for certain. Take this leak, and any other such leak, with due caution.
