Apex Legends celebrates Valentine’s Day with the return of Duos

Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have announced a new event coming to Apex Legends just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

As we all know, there’s nothing more romantic than blasting folks away with your significant other in a battle royale shooter. If that sounds like the perfect date, Apex Legends has you covered.

The Valentine’s Day Rendezvous will begin later today and lasts until February 18th across PS4, Xbox One and PC. It will introduce the long-awaited return of Duos Mode alongside a bunch of unlockable banners, skins and other cosmetics to unlock.

You can find a full breakdown of the event’s features below, courtesy of the official EA blog

  • Receive Valentine’s Day 2020 Badge upon logging in
  • Duos returns for a limited time
  • “Double Up” XP Boost
  • New and returning Valentine’s Day items

A selection of items will be available across two distinct timeframes, providing players an incentive to dive in everyday to earn experience and play alongside their friends and/or lover. We don’t judge here at Trusted Reviews, all’s fair in love and Apex Legends.

The unlockable cosmetics are predictably garish with bright, fluorescent pinks decorating a selection of firearms and banners, providing a distinct way to showcase your passion on the battlefield.

In recent weeks Apex Legends introduced a new playable character in the form of Revenant – an edgy android of sorts capable of wiping out enemies with the utmost efficiency. He’s super fun to play, although you’ll need to dish out a decent number of Apex coins to unlock him.

The battle royale genre is increasingly crowded nowadays, although Apex Legends continues to stand out thanks to some truly brilliant gunplay and unexpected map design. Respawn Entertainment keeps on surprising, and the fact it’s free-to-play is the cherry on top for an already brilliant experience.
