Taste Android Nougat today – New Keyboard app now available to download on any device

Google has released the Android Nougat Keyboard app on to the Play Store, meaning all devices – from the Galaxy S7 to the OnePlus 3, and of course Google’s own Nexus range – can download and install it today.

The updated Keyboard 5.1 app is one of the better features of Android Nougat and comes with a range of new coloured themes and more emojis than ever, plus the ability to add your own typing background images.

It’s also the build that adds the key boarder toggle, which improves visibility when you type.

The stock Android keyboard has never been one of the best options, so these revisions are welcome – although note that the rollout in phased so it may not be available on your device immediately.

In addition, some of the features – such as the ability to select different skin tones for emojis – are only available on Android Nougat and not older versions of Google’s mobile OS. But fortunately, you can download Android Nougat today.
