Android M will officially be known as Marshmallow

Google has officially announced its in-preview Android M operating system will reach the masses under the moniker Android Marshmallow.
Continuing its penchant for sweet treat-themed names, Google has opted for the gooey, sugary campfire favourite.
The news comes as various Googlers shared photos of the now customary new statue – an Android robot clutching a marshmallow – on the front lawn of the Android HQ at Mountain View.

First announced at Google I/O back in May, Marshmallow will be version 6.0 of the Android OS.
