Shortly after releasing the long-awaited Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update, Samsung has apparently pulled it from a number of markets, according to a new report.
That’s according to Samsung blog SamMobile, which is reporting that distribution of the Galaxy S8 Oreo update has been halted and that the relevant firmware is no longer available to download.
The reason behind the standstill is unclear, but the site understands that Samsung is developing a new Oreo update for the S8 (and S8+). The South Korean chaebol has yet to comment.
Earlier in the month, it was thought that the Galaxy S8 wouldn’t be receiving the update until the end of February. However, it seemingly went live early – at least for beta testers in Germany, and subsequently in a number of non-beta countries.
Those who have already installed Oreo on their devices should be unaffected by the apparent removal of the update, but those still looking to make the leap could be left disappointed.

How to download the Galaxy S8 Android 8.0 Oreo update
To check if the update is available to you, simply navigate to Settings > Software Update on your device. If it’s available, you’ll be prompted to start a manual download.
Alternatively, Samsung houses its latest firmware files here, though we can verify that the only flavour currently available is Nougat.

Android 8.0 is tipped to bring a number of exciting features to Samsung’s latest smartphones, including support for Program-in-Picture, notification channels, adaptive icons and circular emoji.
