Amazon plans to announce a new ‘top of the line’ Kindle reader next week, company CEO Jeff Bezos has revealed.
In a tweet on Monday afternoon the Amazon boss says it’ll be an ‘all new, top of the line’ 8th generation model.
Bezos offered no specifics on the reader, but promised more details next week.

The release seems like it’ll supersede the 2015 Kindle Paperwhite and the top shelf Kindle Voyage which was also released last year.
The Voyage offered a 6-inch high resolution display, pressure sensitive bezels and a built-in light with an adaptive lighting system. There were also new haptic controls for turning pages.
However, at the asking price of £169, it was a full £60 more expensive than than the already-excellent Kindle Paperwhite.

In our review we described the Voyage as “the ultimate e-reader for the serious bookworm.”
Can Amazon top it with what appears to be a major new release? We’ll find out next week.
