Amazon Prime Now one-hour deliveries hit Leeds

Amazon has brought its one-hour Prime Now delivery service to Leeds.
It’s been exactly a week since Amazon UK announced that it had expanded its Prime Now service to Surrey, enabling more British subscribers to benefit from one-hour deliveries.
Now that same service has rolled out in Leeds – or at least, in “selected postcodes in Leeds.”
This means that customers in the major Yorkshire city can now choose one hour delivery times on 15,000 items at a cost of £6.99. It’s also possible to opt for free delivery within a choice of two-hour same-day delivery slots between 8am and midnight.
Indeed, the aforementioned two-hour option extends to the surrounding area as well, incorporating Bradford, Wakefield and Huddersfield.
Prime Now has been steadily working its way through the UK since it launched in London last June. Since then it’s come to Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and Surrey.

As Amazon points out, one of the fastest deliveries it has recorded under the Prime Now scheme was a Moleskine notebook and a tin of sketching pencils in Manchester, which were ordered at 20:09 and delivered at 20:24 to a local address in Swinton.

An Amazon Prime subscription costs £79 per year, but a monthly subscription option could be forthcoming if recent news from the US is anything to go by.
