Amazon Prime Instant Video hits UK Roku boxes
The Roku family of streaming devices just gained Amazon Prime Instant Video support here in the UK.
Over in the US, Roku users have been able to access their Amazon Prime Instant Video accounts for years, but it’s taken ages to make its way over here.

It certainly gives Roku a fresh advantage over the Apple TV and Google Chromecast, which continue to omit Amazon Prime Instant Video support. Indeed, Amazon recently took the drastic measure of cutting both aforementioned streaming devices from its online store due to their continued lack of support for its media efforts.
“It’s important that the streaming media players we sell interact well with Prime Video in order to avoid customer confusion,” said Amazon at the time, before adding that “Roku, Xbox, PlayStation and Fire TV are excellent choices.”

Now that Roku recommendation applies to the UK, too.
One thing we don’t have here in the UK yet is the Roku 4 box. The company’s latest streaming box was launched a month ago in the US, adding 4K playback and a remote control finder to the mix.
