Amazon has re-released its Kindle Fire HD with a lower $139 price tag and updated specs.
Lowering the original price by $60, the new Kindle Fire HD now has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor that Amazon is claiming boosts the speed of the original Kindle Fire HD by 60 per cent.

The new Amazon Kindle Fire HD 2013 has a 7-inch 1280 x 800p resolution display with a 216ppi image density, bettering its predecessor with claimed 66 per cent more pixels.
It now has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor rather than the 1.2GHz offering in the original, and has a revamped design to match the newly launched Amazon Kindle Fire HDX.
Dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity is in-built, but there isn’t any 4G LTE compatibility there. The Kindle Fire HD 2013 also comes with dual speakers and Dolby Digital Plus audio technology.
The battery life is said to be 10 hours, similar to that of the larger Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9.
Powered by the new Fire OS 3.0 Mojito, the Kindle Fire HD 2013 offers access to exclusive new features like X-Ray for Music, Prime Instant Video downloads and the Amazon App Store.
From the looks of it, the new Kindle Fire range still lack access to the Google Play Store.
