Amazon Fire Stick takes a massive price drop

Amazon is currently offering its Fire Stick for just £25 in the UK.
It may have launched in this country less than a month ago, but it seems Amazon is already looking to give Amazon Fire Stick sales a boost after an early sales surge by dropping the price to £25.
This special offer represents a saving of £10 from its usual price. It’s currently listed as a “Special Offer,” so don’t expect it to last forever.
It’s been noted that yesterday, when the offer first became apparent, was National Streaming Day. No, really. If so, that might explain why Amazon has chosen now to drop the price of its media streaming stick, though there’s no mention of it on the Amazon Fire Stick page.
The Amazon Fire Stick is essentially a slimmed down version of the Amazon Fire TV box. It plugs directly into your TV’s HDMI port and connects to your Wi-Fi network, allowing you to stream a host of Amazon-powered content, as well as third-party apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Spotify.

It’s powered by a a dual-core CPU with 1GB of RAM, and it has 8GB of built-in storage. Compared to the Google Chromecast it’s a far more fleshed out package, with a packaged in remote and a proper TV interface.
Amazon’s compact solution is also about six times more powerful than the Roku Streaming Stick, which could come into play with media-rich apps.
