Amazon Echo’s latest feature will help you through Oscar season

Amazon has added the ability to search for movie showtimes and information to its Amazon Echo speaker.

The Alexa personal assistant, which continues to develop and improve at a hare’s pace, now enables Echo owners to search for showtimes for a specific movie in your area.

You can ask Alexa which movies are playing at the moment and even narrow it down to specific genres.

Beyond that you can also ask for information about specific movies which will offer some cast, crew and synopsis information.

Amazon is also boosting Alexa with the ability to predict sports games, specifically the NFL. Alexa can now predict this weekend’s playoff games, as well as the Super Bowl.

The device has long been able to give live updates on scores, as well as results, but this might be handy for those making picks over the next few weeks.

Amazon has continued to update Alexa with new skills recently. Just last week it gave Alexa the ability to read Kindle books to you.
