Albert Einstein Font lets you write like a genius

Worried your prose lacks a little sparkle? Albert Einstein Font is a typeface based on the great man’s handwriting, so you can write like a genius.
The man behind it is a typographer from Frankfurt called Harald Geisler. He hopes that a bit of Einstein’s genius will trickle down to everyone using the font.
To research the font, he looked through hundreds of pages of manuscripts and letters from old Albert. He then copied the letters out using a digital pen on-screen to capture the original movement necessary to create a letter. This involved plenty of editing to make sure he got the letters exactly right, down to the smallest detail.
But obviously there’s one big difference between a font and handwriting – the former is consistent, while the latter varies word by word. Our man Harald has thought of that. As you type, a mechanism shifts the previously used letters and constantly changes the appearance of the text.
The prototype has a complete set of upper- and lower-case letters, numbers and signs, but he wants to add three more versions of each letter to be a real completist about it. That’s why he’s asking for funding.

It works on PC, Linux and Mac computers as well as iPhones and iPads.
It’s passed its funding goal and still has 37 days to go. Eccentric, sure, but there’s nothing wrong with that. And we could all do with a bit of Einstein rubbing off on us every now and again. We approve!
