Alan Wake’s Return trademark registered by Remedy Entertainment

Remedy Entertainment has a registered a new trademark for Alan Wake’s Return. Could a sequel be in the works?

Quantum Break is currently in development at Remedy Entertainment, but the studio may already be making plans for the future.

Earlier this week, Remedy registered a new trademark for Alan Wake’s Return (via NeoGAF).

The trademark was registered with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market’s Fast Track service. However, it has yet to be officially recognised by a governing body.

This isn’t the first time Alan Wake’s Return has cropped up. A domain with the same name was registered in June 2015 by Network Solutions LLC, the very same company Remedy uses for all its domains.

Remedy Entertainment is yet to announce any kind of sequel to Alan Wake, which isn’t the surprising. The registration of a trademark doesn’t mean the game is in active development, but merely a future option for Remedy.

Alan Wake’s Return may even be a remaster of the original game for current generation consoles. We’ll have to wait and see, but there’s no harm in a bit of speculation.

Remedy Entertainment’s Quantum Break is coming to Xbox One and PC on April 5. Those who preorder the game digitally on Xbox One will receive a free copy of the Windows 10 version.
