Acer Sells CupCakes Using Kiefer Sutherland And An S5 Ultrabook

By now, you’ll probably have seen the newest add for Acer’s Aspire S5 Ultrabook, the most premium model in the company’s ultra-slim, ultraportable laptop range. It turns out Kiefer Sutherland has a feminine side no-one suspected: he may present a façade of terrorist-foiling bad boy, but apparently what really takes his cake is baking… cupcakes?

Yes, cupcakes. Orange ones at that, which of course we of all people have no objection to. Despite being called Dynamite Cupcakes, these treats are not explosive, so they’re safe to eat for all the family – though that icing might explode a few of your teeth.

In order to sell his culinary confectionary, Mr Sutherland needs a logo, so what better to do than [SPOILER ALERT] blow up a big black SUV. Don’t tell us you’ve never noticed how much the shape of a cupcake resembles the mushroom cloud from an atom bomb, though he doesn’t get to detonate one of those.

It’s quite funny and certainly very different, but at the end of the ad we’re left wanting to buy some cupcakes rather than a brand-new shiny Acer laptop, and the Aspire S5 helps him record and put together the logo rather than creating the actual treats. Still, in a world of often generic laptop ads it certainly stands out!
