5.5-inch iPhone 6 Air to launch in December with iWatch?
The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Air, or so it could be called, could be released in December along with the Apple Watch.
There have been several rumours of late that the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 has already entered into mass production, with the larger 5.5-inch edition entering mass production in September.
A fresh report from China suggest that not only will the “phablet” version iPhone 6 enter into mass production in September, but it could arrive in stores in December.
The report also states that the iWatch will enter production in November, but fails to mention when the iWatch release date will lie.
However, seeing as the iWatch will no doubt be required to pair with a smartphone in order to fully function, just like the Samsung Gear 2 or LG G Watch, Apple would be silly not release it alongside a new iPhone.
It could then tempt consumers to buy the iWatch and either the 4.7- or 5.5-inch iPhone 6 as a pair from network providers or retailers.
From the looks of previous rumours, the iWatch might not quite be ready for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 launch in September, but might be ready for release by the time the iPhone 6 Air launches in the Christmas months.
Both iPhone 6 models will apparently run on a new, battery efficiency focused Apple A8 processor and feature a sapphire crystal display for increased scratch and drop resistance.
The iWatch will most likely make use of the new Apple HealthKit API, which collages all your fitness focused app data in one single service, Health.
Health is Apple’s own fitness monitor and offers the usual array of fitness data collectors, like distance walked, calories burnt, activity times and steps taken.
All three devices will run on the new iOS 8 operating system introduced at WWDC in June.
