128GB iPad 4 release reportedly in the works
Apple is reportedly planning a 128GB iPad 4 release, with the oversized storage option seemingly set to line up alongside the company’s existing 16GB, 32GB and 64GB tablets.
Spotted in a US retailer’s stock listings, the as yet unconfirmed 128GB iPad 4 release would mark a long called for change in Apple’s tablet options, with the plus sized capacity said to be readying for launch as an addition to the current trio of iPad 4 options.
Whilst recent iPad 5 release date and design rumours have suggested Apple’s next-generation tablet will land in the coming months with an all new, iPad mini and iPhone 5 styled design, the new 128GB iPad 4 reports have suggested that the larger storage tablet, which would rival the top of the line Microsoft Surface tablets, will maintain the current iPad 4 specs and design.
Adding backing to the 128GB iPad 4 release rumours, latest reports have suggested that Apple’s newly launched iOS 6.1 beta, released to developers in recent days, has made reference to a potential 128GB iPad 4 release alongside the existing trio of storage capacities.
Far from the first time Apple has been rumoured to be planning a 128GB storage option for its leading tablet or smartphone lines, the recent 128GB iPad 4 release reports have seen product SKUs for the still to be confirmed tablet reportedly appear on the stock systems of a “high-profile US retailer.”
Although pricing is still unclear for a potential 128GB iPad 4 release, reports have suggested Apple latest tablet iteration will be made available in both black and white colour forms, as well as in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi plus cellular options.
iPad 4 Specs
With the 128GB iPad release said to feature the same hardware specification as its predecessor, aside from the increased storage capacity, it is believe that they rumoured model will play host to a 9.7-inch IPS Retina display with a stunning 2048 x 1536p resolution and 264 pixels-per-inch image density.
Elsewhere, the strong iPad 4 specs sheet is further bolstered by a zippy A6X dual-core processor, quad-core graphics and an impressive 10 hour battery life.
