Hot cakes have nothing on the DS.
While it may be slightly annoying would-be buyers of the Wii with price-hikes, Nintendo certainly isn’t having a problem shifting consoles. Especially not the DS which Nintendo has now shipped over 100 million of – impressive stuff!
Obviously these are combined sales of all the various types of DS, from the old clunky launch model to the new shiny DSi. It’s interesting to ponder upon how many of those sales are repeat customers, upgrading from a DS to a DS Lite, or Ds Lite to DSi. Nonetheless, just because some of those sales were to the same person, doesn’t mean that they don’t, as Nintendo puts it, “represent a significant milestone.”
Given the DSi has doesn’t go on sale in the UK until the 3rd of April we can but expect that number to continue growing.
Sony’s probably feeling a little less chuffed about its 50 million PSP sales right now.
