Following the runaway success of the first season, the flagship Disney Plus original series The Mandalorian is back for a second run of episodes. The Season 2 premiere arrives today, on Friday October 30, and we couldn’t be more excited to jump back into that post-Return of the Jedi world, which captivated so many in 2019.

The title character will return to our screens, alongside The Child (aka Baby Yoda), Greef Karga, Cara Dune, Moff Gideon and perhaps, just perhaps, a beloved cult character from the Star Wars universe.

The Mandalorian Season 2 preview

When we left Mando (Game of Thrones’ Pedro Pascal) and The Child at the end of season one, the unlikely duo had escaped the clutches of the darksaber-wielding baddie Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad) on the Razor Crest ship.

Gideon is down, but not out. We see him clamber from the wreckage of his TIE Fighter, seemingly hell bent on vengeance. We know Cara Dune and Greef Karga are also in the picture, but it’s unclear the role they will play in season 2.

After protecting ‘Baby Yoda’ throughout season one, Mando set off to return the child to his people, who just happen to be sorcerers called Jedi. Sound familiar. Season 2 will likely chart this progress as they face off against various foes throughout the Galaxy. There are rumours that the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett will make a comeback t00. WWE’s Sasha Banks is also cast in all eight episodes, but her role remains a huge mystery,

The official season 2 description on Disney Plus reads: “The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.”
