Okay, so they’re not technically spiders as they only have six legs but Intel sure did have a thing for these robot hexapods at this year’s IDF.
Powered by Intel Edison boards, they can be controlled via an Intel Curie-based, motion-tracking wristband.
Intel’s CEO, Brian Kraznich, was able to control an army of the beasts with the flick of his wrist, spreading fear and/or bemusement throughout the thousands of IDF attendees.
If this is the start of the robot uprising, we’re not scared yet but who knows what Intel may show off next year!
