Back when Pro Evo 4 and 5 were out in the early-mid noughties, Pro Evolution Soccer was more of a level playing field with FIFA.

In fact, PES was arguably head and shoulders above FIFA despite the ambitious ‘team chemistry’ and ‘off the ball’ system features. By FIFA 10 in 2009, the tide was turning and EA Sports was finally putting the work in. Several years later and Pro Evo is now left playing catch-up. It continues to improve on the previous instalment, but FIFA is currently playing in a league of its own. There’s little chance of Pro Evolution Soccer catching up any time soon.
