Mojang’s insanely popular world-building title surely needs no introduction; it has sold millions since its launch on PC and the Vita version is arguably the best way to enjoy the game in portable form. Just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, the game boasts a deliberately basic graphical style and allows you to construct almost anything.

However, creation is just one element of Minecraft’s alluring appeal; there’s also a survival mode where you’ll have to craft items in order to stave off attacks from hostile monsters. Sharing is also a vital part of the whole experience, and you can co-operate with friends via both local and online connections. Ironically, Sony’s bitter rival Microsoft is now the owner of the Minecraft brand, as well as the studio that makes it – and many would argue that this means the Xbox maker has arguably released the biggest Vita game of 2014 with this title.
