Case-Mate Barely There

5 of 6

The name really gives away it away here. The Barely There aims to offer a slim form of protection without adding significant bulk to your metal handset. The impact-resistant plastic shell actually only adds 1mm on top of the 9.35mm thick M8 and is also transparent so you’re not hiding away that gorgeous design. The clip-on case itself protects the back, corners and sides of the phone with the top and bottom of the phone fully exposed. All cut-outs are in the right places and don’t obstruct plugging in a headphone jack or micro USB charging port.

Despite the clear design, it’s still very apparent that there’s a slim plastic case hugging the M8 but the metal design still shines through. Unlike the Double Dip, the glossy, plastic back is surprisingly nice to grip and is slightly raised around the camera sensor so you can safely lie the phone on its back. It perhaps won’t offer the kind of protection a rugged case like the Otterbox Defender can, but for £15 this is a great value for money case that won’t hide away your M8.
