Best Games for Kids 2016

Available on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Mac, Android and iOS

For all the popularity of Skylanders and Disney Infinity, Mojang’s Minecraft has become the kid’s gaming phenomenon of the decade. With Story Mode it leaves the usual mining, crafting and exploring toybox behind to give us an episodic series of adventures from the team behind the adaptations of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead. Sounds like a bad idea? Well, prepare to be surprised.

Story Mode turns out to be much, much better than you might expect, with a great cast of characters, witty dialogue and clever puzzles. The blocky visuals have Minecraft’s quirky character all over, while kids will love the game’s slightly juvenile slapstic sense of humour. Episodes one to three are available right now with episode four due for release very soon. Jump onboard the bandwagon before it reaches its final stop early next year.
