Samsung IconX wireless buds are now cheaper than Apple AirPods

Wired headphones continue to be the sworn enemy of fitness enthusiasts. If they’re not getting caught on stuff, they’re fraying and forcing us to buy brand new headphones.

Thankfully, the trend is moving rapidly towards truly wireless buds like the Samsung Gear IconX, which offer built-in fitness features.

These buds are currently on sale from Amazon US as part of the Black Friday weekend event.

You can nab them for $149.99. That’s $50 (25%) off the asking price $199.99.

Primarily designed to work with Samsung’s S Health app for Android devices, the earbuds will help you track speed, distance and calories. They’ll also deliver real-time voice coaching when you’re out on a run.

In terms of battery life you’ll get 5 hours of music streaming via Bluetooth, 7 hours of MP3 playback (via the 4GB built-in storage) and four hours of talk time.

The bundled-in carry case also provides an hour of charging in just 10 minutes. Leave them in for longer and you’ll get almost a full recharge from the case.

Voice commands are available via Google Samsung’s Bixby and Google Voice and when you take the earbuds out, the music automatically stops playing.
