John Lewis has dropped its price for the Google Home Mini to just £34 – a fantastic saving of £15 which also comes with a two-year warranty.
At £34, the Google Home Mini is now the cheapest smart speaker on the market but it won’t be for too long so don’t delay on this incredible deal.
While it may be the entry point in Google’s range of stylish smart speakers, the Google Home Mini is by no means a dip in quality. Sure, the Mini’s 360-degree speaker doesn’t quite match up to that of the Google Home, but it’s an expected compromise for the Mini’s minuscule design of just 98mm by 42mm.
Other than that, the Google Home and Google Home Mini both share the same Google Assistant AI that has been praised for its capabilities and unique access to the world’s largest search engine.
As one would expect, the Mini is optimised to work seamlessly with other Google products, particularly Chromecast devices. If you have Chromecast connected to your TV then the Mini can effectively become a voice-enabled remote. It’s as simple as asking the Mini to replay your favourite Friends episode for the tenth time, all the while hoping that it isn’t secretly judging you.
Of course, the Mini’s biggest competitor is Amazon’s Echo Dot which is also currently on offer but for the slightly higher price of £34.99. The Dot boasts a 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting a dedicated speaker but when it comes to pure style, the Mini has it beat.
With a sleek, minimalist design, the Mini almost looks like something from the latest IKEA catalogue – it’s clearly meant to complement a modern living space.
Even at £49 the Google Home Mini was a bargain but with £15 off, it’s practically begging to be bought. Don’t miss out before it’s gone.
