Oculus Rift virtual reality headset is massively discounted – now just £349

The Oculus Rift is now available for £100 less than the usual RRP, if you buy it directly from the Oculus Store or Amazon UK.

In a huge price cut, Facebook’s Oculus Rift virtual reality headset has been reduced from £449 to just £349, making this a real steal for gamers and tech-lovers alike. You get two Touch Controllers and seven apps – including Lucky’s Tale, Medium, Toybox, Quill, Dead and Buried, Dragon Front, and Robo Recall – to boot.

This is a great bargain, especially when you consider that rival retailers are still flogging the headset at full price – including Amazon.

The Oculus Rift is a hugely popular virtual reality headset that can be powered by your gaming PC. It uses a custom display and optics technology to allow you to explore virtual worlds as if you were really there.

The headset is tracked using an IR emitter constellation system, for low-latency 360-degree orientation and position tracking. It works whether you’re standing up or sitting down.

We gave the Oculus Rift a respectable 4/5 score in our review, praising the amazing experience on offer, the light and robust design, the simple setup, and the strong lineup of games and experiences available.

Our verdict reads: “The Oculus Rift is a triumph for every tech-head – this isn’t just a step towards the future, it’s an almighty leap. It’s by no means perfect, but it’s already fulfilling a healthy fraction of its ultimate potential.”
