The long-awaited Nokia Steel HR smartwatch is finally available for pre-order in the UK, giving you a classier way to track your health.
Earlier this year, Nokia debuted the Steel HR, a slick smartwatch whose release was made possible by the company’s Withings acquisition. Unlike, say, the Apple Watch, Nokia’s wearable is intended to look just like a watch, but has much more to offer.
As well as simply showing the time, it can also track calories, monitor your heart-rate, and even notify you about messages on your smartphone. It also has automatic activity tracking, so it knows if you start running or swimming.
Better still, there’s an immense 25-day battery life – and once that’s run dry, you’ll enter a power-saving mode that offers an additional 20 days of use. Even in power saving mode, basic activity will be tracked.
Speaking about the device, Nokia’s Head of Digital Health Robert Le Bras-Brown said: “We are thrilled to add the design, versatility and functionality of Nokia Steel HR to our digital health portfolio.”
He went on: “The 24/7 heart rate monitoring coupled with the beautiful design of Steel HR offers consumers daily health insights that can lead to real behaviour change without sacrificing style.”
You can currently pick the Nokia Steel HR up from as little as £169.95, with pre-order deliveries expected to begin on December 5, 2017.
We gave the original Withings Steel HR a respectable 4/5 score, praising its attractive design, comfortable strap, long battery life, silent arms, and accurate heart-rate tracking.
Our verdict reads: “The Withings Steel HR is a super-stylish wearable with a great heart-rate monitor.”
