How to share your Amazon Prime benefits

Being one of the lucky few to nab a deal in time is a great feeling, but there’s nothing quite like sharing the excitement with someone else, is there? If you fancy sharing your Amazon Prime benefits then we’ve got you covered.

‘Can a family member use my Amazon Prime?’ is a question people often ask when it comes to Amazon’s service. That’s not surprising considering some of the benefits associated with Amazon Prime. Thankfully, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’ and it doesn’t mean just simply sharing your Amazon Prime account login details.

The solution is something called Amazon Household, which means you can share all the benefits of a Prime membership with another adult.

The only requirement for eligibility is that the other adult must be living in the same household as you (sorry Uncle Dave in Barbados!) and that they have their own Amazon account.

How to add another family member to your Amazon Household

To start the process, simply head to the Amazon Household page and input the details of the second person’s Amazon account you’d like to share your membership with.

You’re only able to add one other adult into you Amazon Household, and both adults should be present during the setup process as you’ll both need to sign in.

Once everything has been verified, your friend/spouse/butler will have access to unlimited one-day delivery and Prime Video, as well as have access to your digital library of apps, games and books, but – more importantly – they’ll be able to join in the fun on Amazon Prime Day.

That’s great news especially if you want to buy gifts for the other family member without them knowing what you’re up to.

As the name implies, being an Amazon Prime member is key before you can take part in the seemingly endless number of deals on Prime Day.

Up to four children can also enjoy a select number of Prime benefits via Amazon Household. For example, kids won’t be able to buy anything on the site but they can access any ebooks and games that have been approved by an adult, which is great for sharing your digital content.

As an alternative method for jumping on the Prime Day bandwagon, Amazon are currently offering a 30-day free trial of Prime – what better time to sign up?
