Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), which was developed by ZeniMax Online Studios and published by Bethesda.

It’s part of the overarching Elder Scrolls franchise, which famously includes the immensely popular game Skyrim. However, ESO is unique in that it’s an MMO rather than a straight, offline RPG.

The Morrowind expansion was released back in June, and takes players back to the island of Vvardenfell, the area originally playable in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

As of 2017, the game has around one million monthly active players, making it one of the most popular MMORPGs globally.

We haven’t reviewed Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind completely, but we have had some hands-on time with it. Here were our early impressions:

“What’s striking about Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is how polished the game was for me. I did have occasional connection issues whilst queuing for PvP matches and some textures were very slow to load at times, but overall the expansion looks very promising ahead of its June 6 launch.”

The verdict continues: “Ever since 2014, ESO has clearly been one long learning curve for ZeniMax and Bethesda, with the excellent Morrowind the result. With an intriguing narrative holding together a refreshing new class and PvP modes, Morrowind represents an MMO going from strength to strength.”
