Even though Cyber Monday is now in our rear view mirror, the deals haven’t stopped. These excellent Sennheiser active noise cancelling headphones have still seen a massive price reduction as part of Amazon’s extended banquet of Cyber Monday deals.
When it comes to active noise cancelling, it’s not all about Bose or even Sony’s excellent recent releases. The Sennheiser PXC-550 has been one of our favourite entries in recent times. We gave them an 8/10 review when we tested them at their original £329 price after all. Well, right now you can bag yourself a hell of a bargain at Amazon by picking up these excellent ANC headphones for just £224. That’s a saving of £106 and not something that comes around often on these beauties.
We’ve crunched the numbers and this is definitely the lowest price Amazon has ever sold these headphones for, making now the best time to buy a pair. Don’t forget, this price expires after today so it’s now or never.
So what makes them so good? The ANC for starters is very good, with two different levels depending on the situation so you don’t have to have them dialled up all the way all the time. You can even turn on a special mode that uses the microphones to let you hear the outside world when needed. Perfect for not missing your plane while you’re zoned out in the waiting area.
There’s even a companion app that lets you tune the sound to your preference. This being Sennheiser, these headphones sound fantastic, our reviewer stated: “Sound quality is very good, and there’s little change as you engage and switch off cancellation. It’s fairly well balanced, but is fun rather than remotely sterile. On initial listening the sound comes across as quite grown up, but hand them some music with a strong bass beat and they feel right at home.”
These high-tech headphones even have a touch sensitive panel on the outside for controlling your music. This cuts down on buttons and makes for a sleak and attractive design.
The review concluded: “The Sennheiser PXC 550 are just about the most feature-packed headphones around. As well as wireless and ANC, you can control your music and customise the sound quality using a phone app. They’re comfortable, sound quality is excellent and active noise cancellation is solid. However, they’re also very expensive.”
Well that last complaint has now been tackled, as a price of just £225 for Cyber Monday makes these headphones a steal for the price. Be sure to act fast before they’re all gone.
