Amazon has slashed a massive £300 off the Microsoft Surface Pro with Type Cover bundle

Amazon Bank Holiday Deal: Save £300 on the luxurious Microsoft Surface Pro, one of the best laptop/tablet hybrids money can buy.

When it comes to laptop/tablet hybrids, why settle for anything less than the best? In this case, buying the best will only set you back £649.99 – a whole £300 less than the RRP.

When we reviewed the Microsoft Surface Pro back in 2017, our main criticism was the product’s high-price. With that one major hurdle finally out of the way, the Surface Pro is now far more affordable and well worth the price of admission.

On the surface (pun intended), the tablet hybrid runs just as well as most Windows laptops on the market. With the Surface Pro operating the full-fat version of Windows 10, there’s zero compromise when it comes to user interface.

Running Windows 10 doesn’t work against the Surface Pro’s battery life either. Trusted Reviews Editor, Alastair Stevenson wrote: “Running our standard battery test, which involves synthetically looping 10 minutes of web browsing and five minutes of video playback with the screen brightness set to 150 nits in Powermark, the device lasted an average of eight hours – which is very good.”

Saving the best for last, Amazon’s deal also includes the Type Cover keyboard, which is usually sold separately for around £140. Truth be told, the Type Cover is essential for making the most of the Surface Pro’s capabilities, so buying them as a bundle makes a lot more sense than nabbing the tablet on its own.

As the tech savvy among us are surely aware, Microsoft’s new tablet, the Surface Go, releases tomorrow here in the UK. While the Surface Go is undeniably cheaper than the Surface Pro, the former lacks the processing power and high-end screen resolution of the latter which allows it to compete directly with Windows laptops.

Remember that £649.99 is the lowest price that the Surface Pro bundle, brand new, has sold for on Amazon this year, meaning that it’s unlikely we’ll see it at this price again until Black Friday – so don’t delay.

We’re rounding up more great deals like this for the entirety of the Amazon Bank Holiday Sale (August 22nd to August 29th) so be sure to check out out dedicated page for more great discounts.

Update: Keen to get in on the action, Microsoft has brought the price down on the more expensive i5 versions of the Surface Pro (also with the Type Cover thrown in). For just an extra £100, you can nab yourself an i5 Surface Pro with 8GB of RAM, instead of 4GB. Anyone who wants to put the Surface Pro through its paces via gaming or video editing should definitely consider getting the more powerful version.
