Amazon raised a few eyebrows, last month, by entering the home security game with the launch of the Cloud Cam and the Amazon Key in-home delivery service.
With a $119 launch price, the Cloud Cam appeared to be a great option for families who might be priced out of comparable products from the likes of Nest.

Now, less than a month after its arrival, Amazon is discounting the Cloud Cam by $20, bringing the entry level under $100.
The affordable indoor camera features two-way audio, so you can communicate with family or tell the dog to get down off thew couch.
It records in 1080p, enabling you to stream live to your mobile device via the companion app.
If you’ve got an Echo Show, Echo Spot, Fire TV or Fire Tablet you’ll also be able to tune in just by asking Alexa.
It has a wide angle lens and night vision, with the last 24 hours of recordings stored freely and available to view from the Amazon Web Services cloud.
The motion sensors will trigger recordings upon detection and you can even get push notifications delivered to your smartphone, allowing you to review the clip immediately.
If you want to access footage for more than 24 hours, you’ll need to subscribe to a monthly package, which are priced as follows:
Basic ($6.99/mo, $69/yr) last 7 days of motion detection clips for up to 3 cameras
Extended ($9.99/mo, $99/yr) last 14 days of motion detection clips for up to 5 cameras
Pro ($19.99/mo, $199/yr) last 30 days of motion detection clips for up to 10 cameras
If you’re after the Key in-home delivery device, that enables delivery drivers to drop packages inside the door, it can be purchased alongside the Cloud Cam, but it’s not on sale right now.
Alternatively, if you’re in the market for a more upmarket home security camera, Amazon is also holding a wicked sale on everything Nest right now.
