Argos Black Friday Deals – Everything to know ahead of the sale

Argos Black Friday Deals: In the words of The Lion King’s Scar, it’s about time that you ‘Be Prepared’ for those deals that are about to come rolling in as Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019 fast approaches.

We’re already flying through October at the rate of knots. Before we know it, Black Friday will be here with many retailers offering its discounted products earlier and earlier every year. Argos is likely to be right there with them, fighting to undercut competition and get the latest gadgets into your hands at the best price going.

Keeping its claws well and truly dug in as a big retailer both on the high street and online, you can benefit from every side of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, with the ease of picking up your deals however you please.

If you’re more of an online shopper than one to go into a physical store, our Argos Black Friday hub is here as your trusty companion. Even if you do prefer to shop in store, all our information regarding Argos click and collect is sure to point you in the right direction.

Why choose Argos for Black Friday 2019?

We’ve already dropped the bombshell and Argos’ top offering is definitely its Click and Collect services and, indeed, its extensive range of delivery options that allow all preferences and needs to be catered for. With any Argos order, you can make your purchase from the comfort of your own home, allowing you to make the most of a Black Friday TV deal without having to dig an elbow in someone else’s gut in store. Then, if you don’t want to wait around, you can opt to pick up from your local branch and have it in your possession as soon as the day you purchase it.

As well as Click and Collect, you can also utilise any Nectar points you’ve already collected or earn even more on your Black Friday purchase. Yes, turns out Argos is a good shout if you collect Nectar points, as you can not only collect them on your spend, but you can also spend your Nectar points with the retailer to save some money. That’s practically a double discount for during the Argos Black Friday sale.

Have a look at the Nectar site to see what offers are currently available, as there are occasional double or even triple point incentives.

Everything you need to know about Argos

What is Argos’ return policy?

Let’s face it, at some point or another, we’ve all ordered the wrong product and not come to realise our mistake until something completely unexpected turns up at our doorstep. For my fellow clumsy people out there, you’ll be happy to know that Argos offers a fairly lenient return policy.

If, for whatever reason, you do decide to return the product you just snatched up, Argos gives you 30 days in which to receive a refund. Of course, in order to be eligible for the refund, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • A proof a purchase must be included with the item (as you might expect).
  • The product must be left unused and with the original packaging intact, so that the product in question can be resold.
  • That last point also extends to any free items that came with your purchase.

In the event that the product you’ve bought is faulty, Argos will offer to repair it for free within 365 days of purchase, or, if a repair or replacement process isn’t achievable, a refund will be issued instead.

It’s also worth noting that for any items delivered to your home, Argos will return to pick up those very same items if you wish to return them.

Does Argos offer a student discount?

Despite being one of the largest high-street and online retailers in the UK, Argos does not provide an exclusive discount for students. That’s not to say that the company doesn’t provide deals with students in mind, including discounts on stationery, affordable TVs and coffee machines – a vital student accessory by any measure.

If you are a student who’s looking to save an extra penny wherever possible however, you might be better off checking out our Amazon Black Friday Deals page – with Amazon offering a dedicated 10% off for students across a whole range of products.

Does Argos offer a trade-in scheme?

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Whilst many moons ago Argos did offer a number of trade-in schemes that allowed you to make money off unwanted goods, that time has drawn to a close. You may have been aware that Argos ran a video game trade-in scheme, as well as one on Dyson appliances, but the retailer has sadly ceased to offer these services.

That said, if you simply want to get rid of any old kitchen appliances like dishwashers, fridges and the like, as well as mattresses, you can pay a small fee and Argos will take these off your hands so that you don’t have to find your own means of recycling. These recycling charges can be added to any delivery, disconnection and installation services you may want when ordering a new appliance for your home.

Sometimes it’s just easier to pay for someone to do it for you.

Does Argos offer click and collect?

The answer is, yes! When it comes to the Argos shopping experience, if you don’t utilise its click and collect service, are you really even shopping at Argos?

Click and collect is an excellent way to pinpoint exactly what you want and pick it up as soon as you like – gone are the days of having to rush through the Argos catalogue in the middle of its store. Now you can pop online, do a quick search, nail exactly what you’re after and reserve it to pick up when you’re ready.

You can even opt to pay online and skip queuing to pay for your goods, taking you straight to what you’re after. For when you pay and collect, items will be held for seven days. If you reserve online and want to pay in store, items will be held for just one day, with the option to extend for a further two days in your account settings – so do make sure you sign in when making your reservation to alter this.

It’s also worth noting that you can have items delivered to your local Sainsbury’s store. If you don’t have an Argos store nearby, this might be your best bet, allowing you to swing by whilst you do your weekly food shop for ultimate convenience.

Argos delivery options for Black Friday 2019

With the Black Friday madness more or less taking over the online marketplace, it’s likely you’ll skip out on visiting physical stores and shop from the comfort of your own home instead. We don’t blame you – that’s one less elbow to the gut diving for that 4K TV.

Luckily for you, Argos offers a selection of delivery options with at least one likely to suit you – alongside click and collect, of course. Delivering across mainland UK and Northern Ireland, packages can arrive between 7am and 10pm across seven days a week.

We’re going to take the lead on Argos’ own way of laying out its delivery options and categorising them by small, large and large appliance orders.

Small packages:

  • Fast Track Same Day Delivery: Available on marked items, order by 6pm and get your goods by 10pm. Starting from £3.95, you’ll be able to choose from four time slots.
  • Standard Delivery: Place your order by 8pm and you’ll get your order the very next day, Monday to Saturday, costing from £3.95.
  • TU Clothing Orders: Order by 2pm Monday to Friday and pay from £3.95 for next day delivery.

Large packages:

  • Next Day Delivery: You can order by 8pm and pay from £14.95 for a delivery slot between 7am and 6pm.
  • Next Day Delivery with Time Slot: Want a more specific delivery slot? We don’t blame you. Starting from £24.99, choose between five delivery slots across the day.
  • Standard Delivery: Costing from £6.95, your item will be delivered anytime between 7am and 6pm.
  • Standard Delivery with Time Slot: Pay from £12.95 and have the choice of five delivery slots to suit you.

Large kitchen appliances:

  • Next Day Delivery: Make your order by 8pm and pay from £8.95 and your shiny new kitchen appliance will be delivered between 7am and 6pm.
  • Next Day Delivery with Time Slot: Order by 8pm, choose from five delivery slots and pay from £24.99.
  • Standard Delivery: Rejoice, standard delivery for large kitchen appliances is absolutely free and will arrive between 7am and 6pm.
  • Standard Delivery with Time Slot: Want to opt for a time slot? Pay from £12.95 and have a choice of five slots.

It’s important to note that on the day of your delivery your delivery driver will give you a call to give you a two hour time slot in which they will arrive. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to leave your home at some point that day.
