If you have a large library of videos stored on your computer or NAS drive at home and want to be able to play them on your iOS device, without having to go through the hassle of syncing them up, Air Video is a must-have. It lets you stream pretty much any video format, including AVI, DivX and MKV files, from a folder on your computer directly to your phone. 
However, to use the app you have to set up the Air Video Server on your computer. This is used to transcode files on-the-fly to make sure they’re compatible with your device. However, this is a small price to pay as the whole system works like a charm once it’s set up correctly.
