These quad core, 1080p, 5+ inch 'phones' should be looking to cram in 3-4000 mAh batteries as standard. How short sighted would you have to be to sign off on a ridiculously small 1780 mAh non-removable battery that, would ruin an otherwise solid spec sheet?

These chinese phones are using cortex A7 based quad core like MTK 6589 by Mediatek, while the big boys like samsung is abandoning A7 for Cortex A9, which is more powerful for quad core processing. The advantage for A7 is very low power consumption. That is why you see them packing only 1780 mAh. In actual use its more then enough, it can easily match a 3100 mAh performance for A9 processor like in Galaxy Note 2, probably better. These phones can last 24 hours heavy use no problem.
