Windows 8 Round Up

Windows 8

By | 03 June 2011

Windows 8 is set to revolutionise the PC industry. It will see a radical rethinking of Microsoft's dominate OS. Not only has it been redesigned around the Metro interface we've seen on Windows Phone 7, to run on both tablets and laptops, but it will also run on low-power ARM-based processors as well as the traditional processors based on the x86 architecture. The publis beta will begin at the end of February 2012 and it will give users the first opportunity to get to grips with the new OS. We've seen glimpses of the new OS in operation including the new Windows Store where you will be able to purchase apps, in a similar way that Mac OS X users can do so in the Mac App Store.

It is still unclear when the first PCs, laptops and tablets will ship with Windows 8 but it is almost certainyl going to be the second half of 2012 before we begin seeing these devices in shops. This round-up will continually be updated with all the latest news and reviews of the Windows 8 OS and wse want to hear from you in the comments, telling us what you think of the look of the new operating system and what features you are looking forward to using.
