White Knight 44AW
It’s a vented machine with a 6kg drum capacity. This is smaller than many other tumble dryers on the market, but it should still be fine for a small family or a family that doesn’t have much tumble drying to do. It also falls behind on its energy efficiency, though — with a C rating it won’t guzzle energy, but it’s also not particularly eco-friendly and you won’t notice a saving on your electricity bills like you might with a more efficient machine.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however, the White Knight 44AW does have a variety of programmes — six, in fact — that you can choose from depending on what kind of clothes you are trying to get dry. If you’re a family this range of settings is useful as you’ll be able to dry the clothes perfectly even though they’re all different types.
You can also set variable temperatures for if you need clothes dry quickly or if they’re made of a more sensitive fabric that would shrink if it was dried at too high a temperature. There isn’t a function to shorten cycle times, sadly — and this would have been useful as some of the cycle times are really very long.
The reverse drum action has the dual benefit of making sure your clothes and sheets don’t end up in a big tangled mess and reducing the time you’ll need to spend ironing after the clothes are dry. As well as looking unassuming it sounds it too — you won’t have to worry about it waking you up if you’re putting it on late at night as it’s eceptionally quiet.
Although the White Knight driers aren’t fancy they are very good value for their low price tag.
