Whirlpool ADG 644 IX

As it’s a built-in model, the Whirlpool ADG 644 IX should fit neatly into your kitchen and into your life. It looks lovely, modern and minimalist, so should slot unobtrusively into any stylish kitchen without attracting attention for all the wrong reasons.

It won’t really attract attention for the right reasons either, though. As dishwashers go the Whirlpool ADG 644 IX is very basic. That might not be a bad thing and you might like something that’s plain, simple and easy to use, but it does seem a little strange considering all of the other dishwashers and the broad range of features they host nowadays.

But maybe this is unfair as it can do certain things. For example, it has an automatic programme setting that just lets you close the door and not have to worry about what’s going on with your dishes. It also has four different programmes and four different temperatures.

Even though the Whirlpool ADG 644 IX is basic, it does do its job very well. Because it can clean so well it has been awarded an A cleaning efficiency rating, so you shouldn’t have any problems with dried on food or stains that won’t shift. The drying efficiency rating isn’t quite as good though as it’s only a C — you might need to dry dishes or at least leave them to drip dry in the dishwasher for a while once the cycle is over.

There’s lots of space inside the Whirlpool ADG 644 IX — enough to hold up to twelve, full place settings with crockery and cutlery. It doesn’t tell you when all these dishes have finished washing, though — you’ll have to rely on guesswork to figure it out. The build quality on the Whirlpool ADG 644 IX could be better too as everything just feels a little bit flimsy.
