Overall, the E6400 XFR is a deliberately different proposition to competing rugged laptops. $3700 (US) for a laptop you can drop 3 feet while open ? I have dropped my 299$ eeepc that far and it also still work perfect.

Try using that cheap toy of yours in a hot desert or under the rain. See if it survives.

Considering the water test in the review, I wouldn't rely on the Dell laptop to work during heavy rain (it's quite an image though!). And when the first eee breaks, you've still go... more
