Does this game allow you the ability to also direct improvements to the ground and surrounding areas, such as rebuilding stands, concessions, sponsors etc?

No, it's a pure management simulation. You can make requests to your board to improve your training facility, increase your stadium, link with another club etc etc, but the board decide what to do and how much to spend.

And it's ridiculously addictive, as always. I haven't fallen in love with the 3D match engine yet, but that's probably because I've been playing this series of games since way back on the Amiga and still subconsciously think the 2D match engine is new and scary :-)

Buy it, it's the best of the best.
