It does seem a little pig-headed, but I can't however fault their reasoning, it always irks me when I proudly show off my new sixty quid game purchase just to have the PC gamers quickly change the conversation to the best software to emulate StarForce or whether there is already a German version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R available online. I had to listen to a couple of coworkers complaining that the only pirate copies they could find were English; BUY THE GAME! I for one will be expecting a COG shaped present in my stocking this christmas.

That really made me sad. I will never buy a console, so i guess someone will have to come up with a better game for the PC.

sad, but true. still, give it some "only for xbox" stickers and a couple of months later and it'll be bound to be available on the pc :)

True, i remember Epic using this same strategy with the original GOW, when they said that it would only appear on the xbox, but it appeared on the pc a year later, i suppose when the sales went down.
I wouldnt mind the wait then I guess. :)

I'm afraid I asked Bleszinski very candidly about PC development, and he quite openly admitted that Epic isn't bothered about the PC market anymore. His reasoning is that the kind of players who are interested in Epic games, are the kind of players who will just download them and never pay a penny.
He said that there would definitely NOT be a PC conversion of GoW2.
Personally I think he's right, and that's one of the reasons that I think the future looks bleak for the PC as a gaming platform :(

wow, i honestly can't wait for the pc version of this..the original gears was one of the best games i've played on pc..and this looks like they've improved on almost everything they could.
I couldnt agree more with the enviroments being very dark and clasutrophobic in the original gears, maybe that was what made the game a lot more thrilling, but i just cant wait to see how the engine renders the external environments.
Bring it on Epic...and on the PC soon.
