Hugo - you're being far too down on this, and missing the massive upside of 'increased-wife-acceptance' factor.
Previously, every time the surround-sound logo 'whoosh' of the xbox came on, my wife would humph that I was wasting time playing games. This improved slightly now that we watch most of our movies via xbox but you still get the compliant along the lines of 'why can't we just watch normal tele.'
Now that Facebook is on there, it would be a daily habit for her and make the xbox an accepted part of the living room entertainment.
Everyone is a winner!
