Sony's E3 announcements this year seem a little overshadowed by Microsoft's. It was going to take something special to top Project Natal and although Sony has its own motion sensing control system, it just doesn't seem to have the 'wow' factor of Natal. And the announcement of the PSP Go would have been more impressive if the console hadn't already leaked out.

At least the Motion Controller for PS3 has a less stupid-sounding name that Microsoft's Natal - if you ask me at least. The technology is a logical extension to the one-to-one tracking capabilities of the PS2 EyeToy, which only worked in 2D. The Motion Controller for PS3 goes a step further by offering 3D tracking of two 'wand' controllers, still using an Eye Cam to perform the tracking.

Position rotation and orientation of the controller are all detected and Sony claims the tracking is accurate to within millimetres. I suggest you watch the video below for more details.

The Motion Controller for PS3 should be shipping in spring next year.

The PSP Go has been officially made official - so to speak - with a prospective retail price of $250; so probably about £200 when it hits the UK on 1 October, which is crazy expensive but it is new! We're reminded that such games as Gran Turismo and LittleBigPlanet will see PSP versions and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, Jak and Dater: the Lost Frontier and Fat Princess were announced as coming to the PSP too.

PS3 games to look forward to include Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the sequel to what was one of the best games, let alone best PS3 games, of the last year, MAG (Massive Action Game), a 128-person multiplayer first person shooter epic and Fat Princess, a PSN game I can't wait to sink my teeth into.

Advantage, Microsoft? Not necessarily, but I was hoping for more from Sony.
