Every time my eyes linger on the Playstation 3 logo, it reminds me of the Spiderman movies which seems an odd way to go about branding. Were they so strapped for cash that they ran a contest to design the logo on Blue Peter?

they changed the logo of the original playstation, some point through its life cycle (magazine tricked me into thinking THAT was the rumoured playstation 3 back then...)

i kinda want to believe it, but then, why should i believe it?

Sony: "No Slim Playstation 3 Planned"

Game Of Honor: Game Of Honor would like to confirm after contacting with Sony, That they are not working on any slim versions of the Playstation 3. Sony also stated "Although it's something we would consider, but it's to early to tell".

So there you have it. It's a bit disappointing but seriously who didn't see this coming?

Main problem: it says PlayStation 3 not PLAYSTATION 3 on the box.
Other than that it just looks so cheap and nasty it would probably melt the moment you turned it on or just crack under its own weight.

@Joe
Still sounds more reliable than my 360!

@Joe "it says PlayStation 3 not PLAYSTATION 3 on the box."

In fact, the original PS and PS2 logo was "PlayStation".. I wouldn't consider that a problem ;) Only on the PS3 did it change on the actual casing and boxing to full, block capitals.

But, I do agree. Making a powerful machine slimmer does sound rather risky and I wouldn't want to rely on it considering how much heat both the "hardcore" consoles of today create. New or more efficient hardware perhaps? I think I'll stick to my bulky box!
