We've already established that gaming on the iPhone and indeed iPod touch isn't quite where it needs to be to live up to what Apple would have us believe. As long as EA's developers don't screw up somehow, I think the soon-to-be-released SimCity for iPhone and iPod touch could turn that tide.

According to Venture Beat, and backed up by our own gaming guru Stu, visuals are akin to SimCity 3000 - and nothing like my artist's impression above. In terms of gameplay, I imagine SimCity iPhone is likely to be most similar to SimCity DS, but obviously controlled by finger gestures, rather than a stylus.

Actions such as zooming in and out, zoning (placing building areas) and so forth all get the touch and multi-touch sensitive treatment. UK pricing isn't confirmed, yet, but taking a look at other games, £5.99 seems a safe guess. We'll find out in December when SimCity iPhone is set to hit.

They need to bring out Monkey Island / Day of the Tentacle!!! I know you can do it with ScummVM but would be better to have it as part of the AppStore for the masses.

I can really see a Lucasarts adventuring partnership working here. DOTT on iphone would work really well.
